Growing up in the small town of Erath, Louisiana, I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of storms on our community. The memories of Hurricane Rita, which reduced my grandmother’s home to rubble and transformed our landscape, still linger in my mind.

When I started my roofing career, I began at another company specializing in metal roofing and fabrication. Prior to that, I had a diverse career in the construction industry. Specialty metal systems quickly captured my attention with their increased wind rating and sleek appeal. I fell in love with these systems and recognized their potential to provide superior protection.

In 2020, a series of powerful hurricanes battered the Louisiana coast, putting our roofs to the test. It was during this time that I first used the term ‘disaster-proof.’ Witnessing the resilience of metal roofs and the protection they provided, I knew there was a better way to safeguard properties. I became obsessed with building better roofs and ensuring that our community could withstand future storms.

Hurricane Ida, one of the most formidable storms to ever hit Southeast Louisiana, was a humbling moment for me. As we worked tirelessly to rebuild, I realized there was more we could do to protect our clients. It was only after working in South Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, a powerful Category 5 storm, that I witnessed the impressive results achieved by meticulous dry-in processes. These practices, combined with my passion for building better roofs, ignited a renewed dedication to deliver superior roofing solutions.

Founded on the principles of building better, while maintaining affordability, by prioritizing people over profits, Disaster Proof roofing was born. We are dedicated to constructing roofs that go above and beyond code requirements, ensuring our customers receive the utmost protection for their homes and businesses.
